Lea Bullen

Asst Coach

"If swimming was easy, you wouldn't need to have lessons. Swimming is one of the most technical sports there are. Something as basic and as natural as breathing, has to be re-learnt"

I first got involved in competitive swimming through my first son 13 years ago, until then my only experience of swimming was as a child on holiday at Butlins. I am now a qualified ASA Club Coach, and ASA Starter. Having spent most of the past 13 years teaching, I have now moved into coaching. When I'm not on poolside coaching, I'm reading about swimming & coaching, how sad am I?

I hope my sessions are both productive and fun!

Qualifications: Teachers Certificate & Club Coach

Paula Macleod

"The most important thing is to always enjoy it"

I was a swimmer for Windsor Swimming Club for 7 years ( from the age of 9 ) reaching County Standard.  I left for 2 years and returned  when I was asked if I would be interested in teaching swimming at Windsor. I have been here ever since!!!! 18 years!

My greatest 2 moments are when we won Thames Valley Junior League for the
first time at Amersham ( who had won it the previous 5 years ), and going to Sheffield in 2005 to see 2 of my swimmers compete in the National Age Group Championships.

Qualifications: National Rescue Award, Club Coach Certificate

Joy Poulter

Head of Teaching

Beginners, Improvers, Advanced 1 & 2

Try this in all you do, at school, at home, at play and of course, with your swimming:

Good, better, best,
Never let it rest,
'Til your good is better,
And your better, BEST!

I qualified as a School Teacher in 1968, worked six years in Essex before starting a family.  In 1984 my daughter Clare, now 28 years old, joined WSC and I started as a helper on poolside, not being one to sit and watch!  I gained the ASA Preliminary Teachers in 1985 and have taught all the groups in the club over the years.  I did the ASA Full Teachers in 1992.  I have worked with 4 Heads of Teaching and 6 Club Coaches and have learnt a great deal about swimming from them.

Over the 20 years I have also held various positions with the club, as well as teaching.  I have been the Novice Gala organiser, Team Manager, Open Meets Secretary, Fixtures Secretary, WSC Open Meets organiser and now Head of Teaching since 1997.  I guess you could call me part of the furniture!  But I enjoy working with the children and teaching them to be safe in water, a skill which I missed for over 30 years!.  That is why I regard swimming as an essential life skill for all children to learn.
