Windsor Swimming Club Junior Squad won the 2nd round of the Thames Valley Junior League beating rivals Maidenhead, Wycombe Reading and Chalfont by a clear margin. Some of the swimmers had already raced at the Wycombe Open meet, but undeterred they focused on this Junior Team event.
The club lead from the opening relays,
Both 12yrs age group medley relays won convincingly:- Sophie Naish, Celeste Lindeque and Georgie Morrison, and boys Alfie Horn, Declan Bourke, Alistair Bingham and Piers Unsworth Neil.
The 10yrs medley girls won, showing promise in their early form, Georgina Evans, Emily Reeves, Rebecca Dutfield and Katherine Delaney.
Powerful swims from the 11yrs girls won their relay:- Lucy Campbell,Danielle Moore,Cassie, Pratley and Morgan Lake
11yrs boys won:- Henry Goddard, Alex Hilliard,Sam Trowbridge and Matthew Delaney
In the youngest 9yrs age group, girls bravely won:- Libby Scammell,Grace Ingram,Pip Trowbridge and Emily Scarles whilst 9yrs boys were pipped at the line Robert Yousef, James Brudney, Matthew Bailey and Nicolas Basford.
Individual wins for:- 10yrs Emily Reeves in the 50m breast whilst sprinter Morgan Lake tipped the records with a 33 sec 50m free.
11yrs Cassie Prattley 50m fly, Lucy Campbell in 50 free and 50m back, Sophie Naish won her 50m back and Daniellle Moore the 50m breast,
12 yrs Florence Claringbold and Piers Unsworthj Neil won the 50m free, followed by Celeste Lindeque and Alistair Bingham in the 50m fly, Katie Molloy won her 50m breast.
Relays finished the event with wins in all age groups. To conclude the
squadron relay Emily Scarles, Matthew Baily, Morgan Lake, Tom Berry, Lucy
Campbell,
Crispin Imani, Florence Claringbold and Alistair Bingham finished the event
with a clear water lead.
