THAMES VALLEY JNR LEAGUE - Round 1

 Date: 19th January 2008

Windsor Swimming Club returned as victors in the first round of the Thames Valley Junior League

The 12 years and under squad of boys and girls showed great promise, leading the field by 45 points with a tally of 26 wins from 43 events.

Relay squads won  the bulk of the events, 12 yrs and under boys and girls won both freestyle and medley events :- Georgia Morrison, Florence Claringbold, Celeste Lindeque, Sophie Naishe, and boys Alfie Horn, liam Bourke, Alistair Bingham and a very fast Alexander Farrell, who swam both freestyle legs in sub 13 seconds.

9 years age groups showed equal promise, likewise winning both events:- girls, Libby Scammell, Grace Ingram, Pippa Trowbridge, Emily Scarles and boys, Nicholas Basford, James Brudney, Mathew Bailey  and Edward Phelps.

11yrs girls won both events by storm, :- Lucy Campbell, Caitlin Flynn, Alexandra Kaye and Daniella Moore.

10yrs girls teamed up for the first time at this event, and won:-Georgina Evans, Emily Reeves, Rebecca Dutfield and a very speedy Morgan Lake.

There were some strong swims in the Individual events,12yrs girls wins, Florence Claringbold  50 free, 11yrs Alexandre Kaye 50 free  and 50 back,  same age group Daniella Moore won the 50m breast and 12yrs Celeste Lindeque 50 fly 33.46.  10yrs Rebecca Dutfield 50m fly and Morgan Lake won her 50 free in an astounding 34.06.

Boys wins, 12yrs Alastair Bingham 50m free, Alexander Farrell 50m Fly, Alfie Horn 50m Back, 11yrs Crispin Imani 50m free.

Junior Coach Paula McLeod, ‘This was only the first round, but the result looks really promising, the new younger swimmers did especially well.’
