A small team from Windsor Swimming Club travelled to Sheffield, over the weekend of the 30th & 31st January, to compete in the annual Burns Open Meet. This year’s competition held high standards as it also incorporated the British Swimming Stage 1 preparation Meet. 13-year-old Lucy Campbell showed that she has been working hard in training by achieving a bronze medal in a personal best time of 4.36.58 in the 400m freestyle event, qualifying her for the British Gas National Championships, to be held between 29th March & 3rd April. With this context, we want to take the Cyprus “Warm weather camp” concept a step further and provide swimmers in County and Regional / National Squads with the opportunity and experience of competing in an international event, in an outdoor 50m pool in Malta. During the weekend of Jan 23-24th Windsor Swimming Club hosted its annual Level 2 Open Meet at the Magnet Leisure Centre. A total of 16 clubs participated and some fantastic swimming was enjoyed by a large crowd of enthusiastic spectators. The Windsor swimmers had a very successful weekend and won an impressive 15 gold medals, 16 silver medals and 22 bronze medals.
