It is with a mixture of pride and sadness that we announce that Joy Poulter has decided to retire as Windsor Swimming Club's Head of Teaching. Sadness of course because Joy has brought so much to the Club over many many years, and stamped her personality on the teaching groups over that time; but also pride on her behalf because of all that has been achieved by the Club over these years, and of which Joy has been a constant part and a major contributor. The precise date for Joy's departure will be dependent on when we are able to secure a successor with the qualities to take forward our Learn to Swim Programme at the same or even higher level, and you may have seen that we have already begun that process. Nearer the time we will have the opportunity to say goodbye to Joy formally, but in the meantime it is business as usual as we enjoy the remainder of the summer and prepare for the start of a new term and exciting new challenges for all at Windsor Swimming Club. A large team from Windsor Swimming Club travelled down to Southampton to compete in the Fareham Nomads Summer Open Meet. The Club had a very successful weekend at this last meet of the season for non- National qualifiers. In total, the swimmers collected 7 Gold medals, 10 silver medals and 7 bronze medals in addition to numerous PB’s. More...
